Me
I have a background in experimental particle physics with the CMS Collaboration. The Compact Muon Solenoid is one of the two main detectors in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. In order to seek out hitherto unobserved phenomenon, an upgrade of the detector was required.

During my time with the group, I worked on the Forward Pixel (FPix) Upgrade of the silicon tracker detector. This involved assessing module performance in two testing environments: a cold-box cooled to -20°C at Fermilab; X-ray chambers located at UIC, UNL, and KU. Testing of modules was performed via pXar a software written in C++ developed by the group. Performance was assessed using C++ and Python code and the results were uploaded to an online database. Following graduation from UIC, I spent 3 months at CERN to prepare the modules for installation in the detector. In addition to the FPix Upgrade, I attended the CMS Data Analysis school at the Fermilab LPC in 2016 where we performed an analysis of top quark events using a boosted gradient decision tree analysis.

In my free time, I have been focusing on learning everything I can about data science through online courseware, self-study of textbooks, and personal projects. Since May 2022 I have been collaborating with the Head of Data Science at COMMB through SharpestMinds.
